Welcome to the Computational Design Lab (CDL) at the Pillar of Information Systems Technology and Design (ISTD), Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), directed by Prof. Peng Song.
At CDL, we investigate and develop innovative computational approaches and tools to push the boundaries of how digital artifacts can be efficiently designed and physically reproduced. Our computational tools transform users' high-level design intent, such as desired functionality and/or aesthetics, into physically realizable designs. The research developed at CDL enables the efficient and scalable design of custom artifacts that serve diverse user needs across a wide range of applications, including architecture, mechanical engineering, robotics, healthcare and recreation.
